Longhorn Steakhouse

LONGHORN STEAKHOUSE REVIEW:

          My sweetheart and I had dinner at the well-known Longhorn Steakhouse last night. We had only been once before and loved it, so decided we would go back... When we entered the restaurant, the hostess was no where to be found... After waiting for a few, she finally approached us and took us to our table, where we now had to wait the arrival of our waiter! Seeing as we were there early in the evening, with not many other customers currently dining, we felt the staff should of been more attentive.

          As the waiter approached us, we browsed at the appetizers. Our eyes were immediately drawn to their Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms. They looked and sounded delicious! We just had to give them a try. When he served them to us, we were shocked at how incredible they looked! These mushrooms looked so much better than the picture, and as most of us know, that never tends to be the case..

          This appetizer consisted of 5 mushroom caps, served over a creamy blend of four cheeses, and each one filled with cheddar and herbs. They were so delicious that we joked about just ordering more of those as our meal! They were about $9.00 before tax, and completely worth it!


          Now bring on the entree! My sweetie ordered the Floʼs Filet (Medium Cook) with a loaded baked potato and a beet salad, and I ordered the White Cheddar & Bacon Stuffed Filet (Medium Well Cook and without the bacon) with steamed asparagus and a ceasar salad. Can you tell I love cheese?

          When the waiter returned, he had only my ceasar salad with him and then disappeared again... On top of that, he only filled our drinks one time for the entire meal... Needless to say, we were getting pretty disappointed in the service.. After a few, the waiter returned to check on his other tables when we stopped him to ask for the beet salad. He replied with, “Sure. Iʼll go get that now.” So now we are waiting again. Then here he comes... Still no beet salad in hand... And says, “Now, did you want this on a bed of fresh greens?” Um.. No?? We just want it as it is listed in the menu. Finally he made his way out again... This time with the whole entree! Both of us were quite irritated that he could not simply bring out both salads at the same time... I am not one who likes to eat while someone else is still waiting on theirs, but of course, my sweetheart insisted.

White Cheddar Stuffed Filet 

          Apart from the train-wreck service, the plates looked delicious! The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My love of course still had to have A1 sauce. Mine had a toasted cheese topping, and on the inside, stuffed with a creamy blend of cheeses.. It was just like the sauce that was used for the mushroom appetizer! Can you say yum?! Both steaks were very tender and flowing with flavor!

          Floʼs Filet was around $20.00 and the White Cheddar & Bacon Stuffed Filet was around $21.00 plus tax.

          Overall, we still had a nice time enjoying each others company and great food. The service was something less desirable, but the quality of the meal was superb. So if you have been considering stopping by a Longhorn Steakhouse near you, donʼt hesitate! Although I canʼt guarantee you great service, I can promise you a delicious meal!
